New Year New You

With the new year comes many changes, but the best changes can often start within yourself.

Whether you decided to ring in the new year by watching Ryan Seacrest blab about how astonishing the performers and the notorious ball were, or by attending a lavish party, 2014 is finally here and is filled with endless opportunity.

Taking a brief look back at 2013, it was full of many ups and downs for a lot of us, and life-changing experiences in my life such as high school graduation and completing my first semester of college.  It was a year of growth and firsts, both for myself and those around me, which ultimately made it the best year of my life.  Though instead of dwelling on the past, I am ready for whatever 2014 has to offer, and I hope the rest of you are too.  For this is the year to be healthier, patch up those relationships that sunk, or finally get your dream job.  This year is about you, and doing what's best for yourself while being considerate to others.

Although 2014 is just beginning, those New Years resolutions you were hesitant to make are now in full effect.  Whether it was as straight forward as working out 3 times a week and stop eating out all time, or something as internal as striving to become the person you've always wanted to be, both of those will change your life and will often prepare you for what may be the best year of your life.  Take a look at yourself this year, and how you impact others loved ones around it.  It will be a better year if you think optimistically, and leave the past in the past.  I can't promise this year will be full of fame and riches, but I can say this is the year to be who or what you've always wanted to be, maybe even since you were a child.  It is perhaps the year for a fresh start, or continue to do what you've always loved.  Though you may spend the first half of this year writing the wrong date at the top of your documents, it is a fresh year to live up to your potential and keep dreaming and achieving.  With the new year can come with a brand new you, if you let the past stay in the past and keep doors open for your whirlwind of a future.
