Another Asian Buffet Plans to Take Over Woodbury Space

It’s been the Atlantic Buffet and is now the Teppanyaki Buffet.

And another Asian restaurant plans to bring its buffet to Woodbury’s City Centre.

New Dynasty Buffet plans to take over the space May 15, manager Vivian Liu said.

The change will include an improved menu and sushi bar, Liu said, and a new head cook will be hired, as well.

New Dynasty Buffet is coming from Austin, Minn., where it’s called China Star, she said. The restaurant also partners with Bloomington's 98 Pounds Buffet, from which the Woodbury spot will take its sushi recipes, Liu said.

Asked about the recent changes to the space and how New Dynasty Buffet will be successful there, Liu said: “We will try very hard and bring the best food and service we can.”

There are still a few approvals from the city to wrap up before the change is made, but it should be complete within two or three weeks, Liu said.

The Teppanyaki Buffet opened in the former Atlantic Buffet space in June 2012. The restaurant is located at 8340 City Centre Drive.

New Dynasty Buffet would mark one of several changes to the area.

Punch Pizza is planning to open soon in the FexEx building, and the Kelly Gallery recently moved to the space next door to Caribou Coffee.
