Brief: Woodbury McDonald's To Close For Rebuild

The local McDonald's will close on Sunday, June 26, as the fast-food giant reconstructs the restaurant.

Call it a McRebuild.

The Woodbury will close Sunday, June 26, as the company reconstructs the location over the next several months.

There have been at the local McDonald’s, Dale Shimek, a construction manager with the fast-food giant, has previously told Patch. He said the company intends to and build a new prototype McDonald’s that features a brick façade with a better interior and architectural details. Once rebuilt, McDonald’s will have two drive-thru lanes.

“At McDonald’s our mission is to become our customer’s favorite place and way to eat. We strive to infuse a ‘Forever Young’ spirit in all that we do,” Jim and Pat Duval, owners of the Woodbury McDonald’s, said in a statement. “The new restaurant will give our customers a great place to meet, relax and enjoy a good quality meal.”

The exterior of the new restaurant will be more modern and the interior will have plasma TVs and improved lighting, according to the release from Pat Duval.

The restaurant is expected to reopen in late September.

Other area McDonald’s locations include 1841 Suburban Ave. in St. Paul; 7355 E. Point Douglas Road in Cottage Grove; and 2411 Crestview Drive in Hudson, Wis.
