Costco Ready to Open Store in Woodbury

The chain already has 2,700 card-carrying members in Woodbury, the Woodbury Bulletin reports.

Costco plans to buy a store site in Woodbury and will tell city officials exactly where that is next week, the Woodbury Bulletin reported.

The chain has sought a location in Woodbury for 14 years, according to the newspaper.

Costco had been considered for Woodbury as part of a 2011 deal to revitalize the vacant State Farm property along Radio Drive. The plans eventually fell through.

The Bulletin cites an email from Costco to the Woodbury City Council as saying that 2,700 Woodbury residents are already Costco members and most shop at the Maplewood or Eden Prairie stores.
