Cups 'n Scoops is Now Closed at Central Park

The city's lease with the vendor expired on Thursday, Oct. 31. Staff interviewed potential replacement vendors this week.

Cups 'n Scoops closed at Central Park as of Thursday, Oct. 31.

Cups 'n Scoops' lease with the City of Woodbury ended on that date, according to a news release from the city.

"Cups 'n Scoops has been a terrific partner for the city and our guests at Central Park," said Jodi Sauro, the city's recreation supervisor. "We already renewed the original lease twice and have reached the renewal limit. We were required to solicit new proposals and negotiate a new lease."

The city took proposals for a new vendor until Oct. 11. Cups 'n Scoops was one of four vendors that responded before the deadline. The other three vendors were "Angelina's Kitchen, Cravings, and an independent company proposing a title of Central Park Café and Creamery," according to the city news release.

City staff interviewed the vendors this week, but "food and beverage service at Central Park may not be available until the first quarter of 2014," the city release said. The city and vendor will negotiate the terms of the lease and the City Council will approve it.

Cups n' Scoops has occupied the 759-square-foot space at Central Park since it opened more than 10 years ago.
