Community Garden Day at Guardian Angels Church

On Saturday morning, August 6, the Food Shelf Garden at Guardian Angels Church, in Oakdale is participating in the metropolitan-wide Community Garden Day sponsored by the non-profit group, Gardening Matters.  This is a day to celebrate community gardens by visiting many in our
area.  Guardian Angel’s Food Shelf Garden
is one of the oldest faith-based gardens that’s been providing fresh fruits and vegetable (11,000 lbs. in 2010!) to 3 east-side food shelves for 17 years.  Visitors can see the gardeners in action from 8:30am until 10:30am.  There will also be produce tasting and children’s activities starting at 9am.   The event at Guardian Angels Church runs from 8:30am – 12 noon at 8260 4th St. N., Oakdale.  People from the surrounding community are invited to participate with us during the gardening season.

See the Gardening Matters website for times
and locations of all participating gardens.
