Hobby Lobby in Woodbury Planning February Opening

One of the most anticipated store openings in Woodbury for 2014 has set a more definitive timeline.

Hobby Lobby is eyeing a February 2014 opening, and is hoping to bring about 35 to 50 new jobs to Woodbury, according to an update released by the company last weekend.

The crafting giant has already started construction and renovations on the 49,000 square-foot former Sportsman’s Warehouse location in Woodbury., located at Hudson Road and Woodbury Drive.

This is Hobby Lobby’s fourth location in Minnesota, which is projected to open around the end of February. The location will bring about 35 – 50 jobs to the community paying $14 per hour for full time and $9.50 per hour for part-time associates.

Our stores offer the widest variety of craft and home decor merchandise under one roof. There’s something for every family member,” wrote John Schumacher, Assistant Vice President of Advertising, via the press release.

Hobby Lobby Stores, Inc., headquartered in Oklahoma City, OK, began as Greco, a miniature picture frames company in 1970. When David Green moved his business from the family’s garage to a 300 square-foot retail space in 1972, Hobby Lobby was founded.
