Woodbury Punch Pizza Now Open

Punch serves Neapolitan-style pizzas that come out of an 800-degree wood-fire oven in 90 seconds.

Punch Pizza was closed Thursday after a Wednesday event to support the Madison Claire Foundation that saw hundreds of people pack the new restaurant.

“We’re going to need it,” said Jenny Nyquist, director for Punch Pizza.

It will open again at 11 a.m. Friday, Sept. 6.

“And it’s just like you get in Naples, Italy,” Nyquist told Patch when Punch announced its plans to open in Woodbury.

Punch Pizza has locations in Highland Park and on Grand Avenue in St. Paul, along with five others in the Twin Cities.

It serves a wide variety of pizza, and offers beer and wine. Salads are also on the menu.

The restaurant seats nearly 70 people, and a patio along Valley Creek Road will have room for about 50.
