New Woodbury Salon Celebrates Grand Opening

Owners of the newest hair salon in Woodbury, Salon 755, say they take great pride in being a "classic" beauty parlor with old-fashioned values and high-tech capabilities.

Located in Tamarack Hills, Salon 755 celebrated its official grand opening Wednesday, June 22. In attendance at the official ribbon-cutting ceremony were Mayor Giuliani Stephens and Woodbury Chamber of Commerce members and ambassadors.

Owners Kris Halseth and Dave Kleingartner are lifelong residents of Minnesota who have a real passion for the hair industry. They also happen to be married.

“I was born in Bloomington and have been a computer tech for most of my career,” said Halseth. “My husband has been in the pharmacy business, but we both have always had a true love for this industry."

She’s also a licensed cosmetologist and a baby boomer who says she knows the value of getting a great color and cut.

“I traveled a lot for business when I was working in the corporate world and seemed the only time I could ever find time to get my hair cut and colored was on Sundays,” said Halseth. “I don’t know if you’ve ever noticed, but there aren’t too many salons that are open on Sundays. We will be open every Saturday and by appointment only on Sunday for our busy corporate clientele.”

Because Halseth’s background is in computers, her front desk is also high tech. People can book appointments online, follow Salon 755 on Facebook or Twitter for specials, and if you’re a walk-in, Salon 755 will auto text you when your stylist is ready so you can shop or dine at one of the businesses at Tamarack Hills while you wait.

The salon is priced in the mid-range category. Some of the services offered are facials, waxing, hair design, coloring, chemical texturizing, manicures and pedicures, make-up and special occasion up-dos.

According to Halseth, the salon is also about supporting locally made products when they can, such as the organic product they use for facials, Arigato.

“We also have the all natural Amir lotions, which is a local product from United Hair Care made in St. Paul,” Halseth said.

Salon 755 will have four full-time stylists that are licensed and qualified to do any beauty services the salon offers.

“We will also have what’s called 'booth renters.' These are master stylists with over 20 years of experience and these stylists will work by appointment only,” Halseth said.

“Because master stylists are more experienced, their prices will be a bit higher than our full-time stylists, but we wanted to have that option available to our clientele, too, for those people who do prefer the master stylist or have difficult hair issues,” said Halseth.

Salon 755 is located in Tamarack Hills, 755 Bielenberg Drive, Suite 105, in Woodbury. For more information visit www.salon755.com or call 651-501-7464.
