Packed House: Woodbury Community Expo is Saturday

The event runs from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. April 14 at the Bielenberg Sports Center in Woodbury.

After three years, word has gotten around.

The sold out its available booth space for the first time this year, according to Kim Snyder with the , which organizes the event.

“We feel really good about that,” she said.

The third annual event is set for 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday, April 14, at the . It is free to attend.

The Woodbury Community Expo will once again feature dozens of exhibitors, live music, prize raffles, activities and plenty of spots to grab a bite.

But chamber officials have been looking to draw a younger crowd this year, Snyder said, thus the Minnesota National Guard climbing wall and demonstrations from Mad Science, among other things.

“For the kids who are a little to old for face-painting,” she said.

One new thing that will likely appeal to people of all ages is the cash grab, a giant box in which people try to collect as much money as they can while it blows around inside. Everyone will have a free chance to enter the booth, Snyder said.

    

Other attractions include dancing from , three celebrity emcees, music from and the Vallee de Croix chorus, K-9 demos from the , and sand art and other activities from platinum sponsor Warner’s Outdoor Solutions. (Check out the complete lineup.)

Bringing all those businesses and organizations together is no easy task, and Snyder pointed to the help of volunteers to keep things at the expo running smoothly. In all, more than 60 people help put on the annual event, she said.

Thousands of people came through Bieleneberg for last year’s event, and Snyder said she’s looking forward to the expo this year.

“It’ll be a lot of fun,” she said. “Anytime of day, come by and check it out.”
