What Business Should Replace Cups 'n Scoops?

We asked Woodbury residents what should go in the space at Central Park. Here are their suggestions and reactions.

The City of Woodbury announced its lease with Cups 'n Scoops ended on Oct. 31. Staff recently interviewed four potential tenants for a new lease.

Cups 'n ScoopsAngelina's KitchenCravings and an independent company proposing a title of Central Park Café and Creamery would like to lease the space at Central Park.

We asked our Woodbury Facebook followers for their reactions. Here's what they said:

Eric Berg: Seems strange that they put out the RFP so close to the end of the lease...if they go a different direction, they'll have a looooooong time with no revenue...unless this RFP is like an old time Soviet election where you know who will win.

Barbara Yunker Alm: Caribou

Terrie Cichantek DeBaker: Very sad! Great ice cream at an affordable price! Hope the new vendor keeps the same philosophy.

Doreen Lindor: Hopefully not froz yogurt

Amy John: Oh no! My little girl is going to be so bummed she can't get her Superman ice cream anymore!

Troy Schmidt: How about a combo strip bar/barber shoppe? When wives ask where their husbands have been, "just gettin' a haircut, honey...".

Anna Perez: Wait, I may be misreading this, but it sounds like Cups and Scoops is one of the four vendors who may end up in the space. If so, then they have my vote for the new lease!

Kim Lemrick: Cups and Scoops has my vote. Wouldn't want any other kind of fare there.

SomeGuy wrote on Woodbury Patch: What a colossal screw up. To NOT plan ahead so that this site would remain unopen for months (minimum - that article states that it may open first quarter 2014) is simply unacceptable. A vendor in that space is a big part of the trip to the library for kids and there were some pretty unset children on Saturday. The next tenant should have been identified and ready to go before the current lease ended. To be reviewing bids a few weeks out? Seriously?!
