Updated: What Should Go Here? Former Woodbury Creative Kidstuff

What do you think would be a good fit for that space?

The old Creative Kidstuff space has been vacant .

After 15 years in the city, closed its Woodbury store in August 2011. The main reason for the closure, CEO Roberta Bonoff told Patch, was that the location in the Valley Creek Marketplace wasn’t ideal, and when its lease was up, the company decided not to renew it.

"It's pretty simple,” she said.

What do you think would be a good fit for that space?

A local ice cream shop? Maybe a deli? Or what about a different type of retail store?

Let us know what you think would make sense in that location in the comments section below. What is that part of Woodbury missing?

Here's what people said on the Woodbury Patch Facebook page:

Stephen: Comic book store!!!!

Beth: Another little toy store. I miss it.

Kathryn: How about Creative kidstuff reopening.

Rick: Auto parts store? After all, I believe there is one of just about every kind of business in Woodbury; Except an auto parts store.

Lisa: your office...?! :) :) :)

I know that I gave this answer before on another one of these articles but I would love to see a store that sells items for children with special needs, kind of like the autism shop (but for a wider variety of needs). Or an education store like Lakeshore learning center would be great too

One popular idea on our Facebook page so far has been to bring back a store for children's goods.

It most likely wouldn't work down here, but something like a J. Skylark in the DeWitt Seitz Marketplace at Canal Park. I haven't been there in a while, but I remember going there during my teen years and seeing all sorts of cool and wacky things. Kind of like an eclectic combination of a local bookstore, Games by James, with a little touristy knick-nack (is that the correct spelling? The spelling czar in me wants to know.) Again, the foot traffic, demographics, and customer mindset might all be wrong for it, but it would be kinda neat.
