Woodbury Hotel Gets Makeover

The Country Inn & Suites is planning an open house next week.

The Woodbury Country Inn & Suites recently completed a renovation, and is planning an open house from 1-4 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 6.

The event will feature free slices of pizza, prizes and other events. (See the PDF with this post for more information.)

Patch asked Heather Davis, director of sales, about the remodeling. The Woodbury Green Mill, attached to the hotel, also got a makeover recently. See: Major Makeover Complete at Woodbury Green Mill

Patch: What prompted the remodel?

Davis: The hotel was purchased by the Excelsior Group in 2011 with the intent to upgrade the building to accommodate the current trends of the business and leisure traveler.

Patch: Were you closed during the work?

Davis: The Green Mill restaurant was closed down for two months for their renovation, however, the hotel remained open for business.

Patch: Tell us about the scope of the work.

Davis: Both the Green Mill and the Country Inn & Suites were completely renovated. All of the exterior and interior spaces were given a fresh and modern update, from the bar to the swimming pool to all of the guest rooms. The Green Mill removed walls and added more windows to give a brighter and open feel to the space. The hotel built a new breakfast addition to accommodate our new hot breakfast buffet, updated all of the 2,000 square feet of meeting and banquet space and all guest rooms and public areas were redesigned with all new construction, furniture and décor.

Patch: How did everything turn out?

Davis: The renovation has brought about a dramatic change to the Green Mill and the Country Inn & Suites that we know our community and guests will enjoy for years to come.

Patch: Anything else you'd like to add?

Davis: We would like to thank the ownership group, construction crew, management company and the city of Woodbury for their hard work and dedication to this project. We have been a part of the Woodbury community for many years and we look forward to carrying on that great tradition of hospitality and superior customer service. We love this Woodbury Country!
