Woodbury Lakes: Chico's Arrives, Summer Concert Series Announced

As the weather heats up, so are things at . Patch on Wednesday got word of some of the latest happenings at Woodbury’s outdoor mall.

Chico's

Woodbury Lakes announced that Chico’s opened Wednesday, April 18, completing a move from .

The clothing store moved into the former location, a 4,500-square-foot space in building D at Woodbury Lakes. (Talbots had closed its Woodbury location, along with 82 others across the country.)

Founded in Florida, Chico’s has been in business for 25 years, according to its website, and now has more than 600 stores nationwide.

Concert Series

The free concerts are held on Wednesdays and Thursdays, July 11 through Aug. 9, weather permitting. (Visit the Woodbury Lakes Facebook page one hour prior for concert status.)

The Wednesday events, held from 10-11 a.m., are more kid-friendly and feature interactive musical performances.

Thursday performances feature local artists, though they are still family-friendly events, according to a release from Woodbury Lakes.

Aug. 9: Alison Scott and Kevin Bowe (indie rock)

Woodbury Lakes asks that people do not bring alcohol or pets on mall property.

Girl’s Night Out

Girl’s Night Out—which benefits the Mothers & More Twin Cities East Power of a Purse Campaign—is set for 4-8:30 p.m. on Thursday, April 26.

The women’s event includes: 

  • a free “swag bag” of goodies ($50 value) to the first 300 woman to donate a new or gently used purse;
  • discounts and specials from participating Woodbury Lakes retailers;
  • photos with girlfriends in a photo booth;
  • KS95’s Dez for spin-the-prize wheel from 4-6 p.m.; and
  • a chance to win a diamond pendant, a sapphire necklace, Aveda gift sets, Coach sunglasses, store gift cards, Woodbury Lakes gear and more.

Admission to the event is the donation of a new or gently used purse. Without a purse, the cost is $10 cash or check made out to Tubman.

Each spring, Mothers & More Twin Cities East collects new and gently used purses through the its Power of a Purse campaign. The purses are then given to Tubman, a domestic-violence organization. The purses are given to women who have fled domestic violence situations as they start to rebuild their lives.

People can check in at 4 p.m. at the former Starbucks space.
