Michael Carter Jr. Performed at the 18th Annual General Mills’ Black Champions Network (BCN) Gala

The promising young musician and recording artist, Michael Carter Jr., age 14, performed at the 18th Annual General Mills Black Champion Network (BCN) Gala on Saturday, January 18 at the Hyatt Regency in Minneapolis.  The theme of the gala was "Celebrating the Family:  Recognizing the Old School, New School and Next School,"

"This event celebrated the history and progress of the BCN as well as recognized the achievements of the BCN membership," says Darren Harmon, Director, Supplier Diversity and Business Development for General Mills.  "We are very proud to have had Michael Carter Jr. perform at our event as he is representative of the 'Next School' generation.  He is a talented, young composer with a bright future ahead of him.  The music he has created at such a young age is amazing," he continued.

The incomparable saxophonist, Willie Moore, accompanied him at the event.  Ashley DuBose, NBC's "The Voice" contestant, also performed at the Gala.  WCCO's newsperson, Angela Davis, emceed the event.
