If you were at Woodbury Days, chances are you passed by Thanh Truc's stand. Hopefully, you were able to taste the most amazing wontons in the world, but if not, don't worry. You'll have your chance once you actually visit the restaurant.
According to their website, won the title of best ethnic restaurant in Woodbury two years in a row (2005 & 2006) in a poll conducted by Woodbury Magazine. And it's no surprise, really.
Tucked away in the shopping center of Eagle Valley and always bright and sunlit, Thanh Truc offers some of the best authentic Vietnamese, Chinese, and Thai food you will ever have cravings for—seriously.

Have you ever tried their spring rolls? They're addictive. Wrapped in rice paper and dipped in peanut sauce, they are a double whammy of texture and flavor: chewy and crunchy; fresh and sweet.
The wontons, as I mentioned before, are quite possibly the best in the world. They're big, they're fresh, and the cream cheese is tantalizingly sweet.

I always enjoy introducing my boyfriend to food that he hasn't ever tried before, being the hungry man that he is. We ordered the spring rolls and the wontons and completely devoured them... messily. Oops.
My personal favorite from Thanh Truc is their Siamese chicken, which is lightly breaded and fried; moist and tender, and seasoned delicately with seasame seeds, in a sweet and savory sauce. It's served with a side of rice. But if you're loyal to Yang's Siamese chicken (which is too bad) I recall that the Chicken Almonding and the Sweet and Sour Chicken was a pretty good selection.
But what Thanh Truc probably does best is their pho, pronounced "pha." It's my mother's favorite. My boyfriend ordered the eye of round steak, which was brought out with a plate of garnishes that included a lime, jalapenos, and some bean sprouts. The broth is hot, with an earthy flavor that satisfies the soul, and the meat is tender. Don't be a wuss and not add those garnishes that they gave you. The bean sprouts and lime only make the meal better! They add more texture and flavor.
If you haven't visited Thanh Truc by now in the years that its been here, I fully insist that you go. Entrees and appetizers are pretty cheap with big portions and very well worth it!
