My Summer in Review

A review of my summer... what did I do? What did I accomplish?

As I have mentioned before, summer is always a most cherished thing for teenagers and kids in general. For some, summer goes too slowly, but for most, summer slips by too fast.

So, what happened this summer that would make really good stories for my friends at school?

Well, I did succeed in sketching and doodling parts of other comic projects I had going on... one comic I'm even going to edit for the school newspaper in this upcoming year. I've tried to test out of Spanish 2 (taking the final this week) and I've also completed a health course. So my summer has been productive.

I did what I've always wanted to do since I was a little kid and volunteered at the library and had a ton of fun. For this year's Bookawocky, I must have submitted over 20 reviews, and in the end, won a free book, which I will look forward to reading when the school year picks up again.

I also went to see some great bands play, and I'm not just talking about the Dweebs or GB Leighton at . This summer I attended three concerts: Aerosmith, Foster the People, and Coldplay. All were insanely fun. And I believe that it's very good to see Aerosmith before Steven Tyler falls off the stage again and breaks something more serious than his leg.

Big changes have also occured this summer. I got two new puppies, Kiki and Elli, and With all of this together, I think that my summer has basically been jam packed, and therefore a pretty satisfying three months' break... y'know, except for my dog dying. That part really stinks.

With school approaching, you would think that I would be more focused on getting my stuff together and getting to know my schedule. But personally, I'm actually focusing on my plans for next summer. I'd love to volunteer at the Animal Humane Society, and volunteer at the library again. I'm considering not taking a class during the summer, and maybe make things a little lazier for me.

But with how I am, a lazy summer isn't going to work for me.
