One Down, Two to Go

The first trimester is over. Finals week was tough, but students pulled through.

The first trimester is over!

As for my personal experience, I felt as if time flew by. It has been a very busy year so far, and finals week was definitely by far the busiest.

Here is a recap on what finals week was like at .

"I'M TIRED!" was the ubiquitous quote of the week. And for good reason.

Having to study for hours upon hours for finals is undeniably stressful. Some students went to bed at two o'clock in the morning, which I think is ridiculous. It's like we are already in college or something. But, I have to say that there are distractions that can hinder efficient studying.

And that hindrance is a little something called Facebook.

I guess everybody has their own personal level of concentration, and ways of managing time. But even I have to confess that Facebook "study breaks" can turn into an extraneous hour of chatting, creeping, and clicking. Which is never good. I still was able to get through all of my review packets and flash cards, but if Facebooking was out of the picture, I could have gotten an hour or more of dozing time!

What is a sign that points out Woodbury High School is having finals? One word: sweatpants.

I feel like there is an unannounced but evident code between students out there to wear sweatpants, or anything made of stretchy fabric, during the week of finals. Being comfortable and warm is much more important than impressing that special someone during this period in time. And forget about straighteners. Hello messy bun!

What I have learned from hard-core testing is that there is always an award that comes out of tough work. For me, it is the feeling of self-accomplishment that pushes me to strive for my best. Also, keeping a positive mindset can make an astounding difference. After two days of struggle, there is always the 3-day weekend waiting. I, for one, am looking forward to giving my alarm clock a break.

After studying, drinking caffeine, and complaining about life, we all sharpened our pencils and filled in the best answer above. And sometimes you just have to go by the saying, "When in doubt, go with C."
