students love dressing up on spirit days, and Halloween was definitely no exception.
October 31 fell on a Monday, meaning school was in session. Apart from the usual jeans and t-shirt attire, many students dressed up.
I guess transformed would be the better word for this occasion.

Mimes, Hannah Montana, and vampires roamed the halls of Woodbury High School. A couple of Halloween-fanatics splattered themselves with red paint, and drew on scars and bruises, which all added up to a creepy zombie look. It's always interesting to see how creative people get! And they have the guts to wear that to school. Get it? Guts. (Editor's note: Ha!)
Halloween is of course followed by the Spanish tradition, called Dia de los Muertos. The Day of the Dead. Community Outreach had their annual haunted house during all lunches. Students pay $2 to walk through a haunted room, created by seniors. I proceeded into the haunted house, not expecting much.

Oh boy, did I underestimate the level of fright.
There were different sections, ranging from a creepy circus (how did they know that I fear clowns?) to a gory grave yard. Considering that it was all assembled in 3 hours, it was very well done.
I was thoroughly scared, but definitely entertained! The proceeds go to a charity, so it was a win-win situation.
All in all, it was a great start to the week! I am looking forward to when I will be a senior, so that I will be doing the scaring. But for now, I should slow down on the candy.
