Squire House Gardens: Another Date for its Popular Garden Talk and Tea Series

Squire House Gardens in Afton, MN has added another presentation to its popular Saturday afternoon “Garden Talk & Tea” series.  Events will now run through March 1, 2013.  The Garden Talk and Tea series features lively and informative discussions plus complimentary tea and treats.   The remaining schedule includes:

Newly Introduced Perennial Plants

Guest speaker Mike and Jean Heger of Ambergate Gardens

The Hegers are icons in the horticultural community of the Twin Cities.

Ambergate Gardens specializes in growing perennials suited for the harsh conditions of our northern climate. Mike and Jean personally select and care for the perennials they grow. They share 'hands-on' knowledge and experience through teaching and writing, including the re-released revised edition of Mike's book 'Growing Perennials in Cold Climates.'

Gardening in the Shade

Martin Stern will share his perspective as a landscape designer and gardener-- offering insight into making better choices for and planning and care of a shade garden. You too, can have a fantastic shade garden in your yard!

Grow your own delicious vegetables & herbs. Join us for our last Winter Garden Talk & Tea at Squire House. Tips on site selection, soil, and choosing seeds & plants. We are looking forward to early plantings in our own kitchen garden as soon as the spring weather arrives.

After the presentations, guests may browse Squire House Garden’s unique and whimsical merchandise and plants.
