Squire House Gardens Spring Tea Party Saturday

Squire House Gardens in Afton's annual Spring Tea Party is Saturday. New plants and garden products, complimentary English tea and scones, lively accordion music, spring hat contest and more.

Squire House Gardens in Afton will welcome spring with their annual Spring Tea Party. Guests may browse new spring plants and garden products plus enjoy complimentary English tea, homemade scones, lively accordion music and more.

Squire House Gardens will also host its second Spring Hat contest, beginning with a hat parade at 2 p.m.  Guests are encouraged to wear their most stylish spring headwear for the chance to win a $50 Squire House Gardens gift certificate.  At the conclusion of the parade, a panel of impartial judges from the town of Afton will determine which parade participant best symbolizes the meaning of spring.

Finally, for a $20 materials fee, guests can plant a colorful spring pot or basket, to take home and display outdoors immediately.   Martin Stern, expert landscape designer and owner of Squire House Gardens, will lead planting sessions at 1 and 3 pm.  Space is limited so advance registration is encouraged by calling 651-436-8080.
