Oh Canada, Picket Problems, Signs Swiped: Woodbury Police Blotter

The following information was obtained from recent police reports.

Police were able to lift latent prints from a vacuum cleaner machine that was broken into and had all its quarters stolen.

A resident reported that a portable toilet near has been tipped over several times recently.

A juvenile who has not been a student at since 2010 was issued a trespass notice after trying to catch a ride home with a school bus.

A woman trying to cross the street at the 11000 block of Independence Way called police after she yelled a motorist to slow down and he got out of his car and yelled at her.

Numerous political signs were dumped in a yard at the 900 block of Stewarton Drive. There was also a report the next day of signs being stolen from a yard at the 1200 block of Silverwood Road and the 9100 block of Pinehurst Road. It has been a problem of late in Woodbury. See:

A Canadian man noticed a gouge in his car while it was parked at the lot, so he moved his car to a spot away from other vehicles, and the next day noticed more damage.

Police said they would follow up with a man who said a man at the 2800 block of Meadow Brook Drive bought $2,000 worth of carpet-cleaning equipment but never paid the bill.

A resident at the 2000 block of Parkview Lane called police after a man in a tan van was watching young girls and making faces at them.

A resident at the 6800 block of Thames Road called police after finding a smudge mark on her patio door and thought someone was looking into her patio window.

When advised that protesters at Radio Drive and Valley Creek Road were acting within the law, a caller hung up on police. The individuals were protesting about the gay marriage debate.

A resident at the 1000 block of Bleeker Street was advised that he can’t shoot glasses with a BB gun in his driveway.

A resident at the 2200 block of Vining Drive called police after receiving a call about fraudulent charges in Guatemala. When she questioned the caller, he said, “Ha, ha, you have been prank called.” Police called the number and spoke with a man—who denied it—and advised him of the consequences of making such calls.

A call about someone who appeared to be digging in a ditch with a package near him along Interstate 494 south of Lake Road was transferred to the State Patrol.

There was a report of juveniles lighting off fireworks in the pedestrian tunnel at Radio Drive and Bailey Road.

A resident at the 900 block of Autumn Drive called police after hearing footsteps in her garage after the home’s alarm sounded. Police checked the area with negative results.

A resident at the 10200 block of Grand Oaks Trail called police after a woman knocked on her door.

Someone called police after seeing a white van at an ATM at and the machine appeared to be open.

While making a registration check at the , police found someone who had a warrant out for his arrest. He was taken into custody and booked at the Washington County Jail.

A resident at the 6100 block of Garbe Avenue called police after noticing that about $750 in jewelry was missing from the home. She said there was no damage at the home and believed it someone she knows who uses drugs who took the items.

Police were called about an apparently drunken man with a bottle in his hand who was yelling at a young girl. The caller said he seemed to have pushed the girl, but wasn’t sure if they were playing or it was an assault. Officers checked the area with negative results, and spoke with neighbors who saw the man and the girl but didn’t notice anything suspicious.

Police were called about a fight involving several juveniles at the 6300 block of Tahoe Place. Police advised the group how to behave.

A resident at the 1600 block of Lamplight Drive reported that a neighbor said he was going to kill his dogs.

A Newport man reported meeting two women in the lobby of the Red Roof Inn who suggested they all watch football together in his room, though there not likely any games on TV at the time. He said they stole $250 from his wallet, his ATM card, watch and a ring.

Police recovered a stolen vehicle registered to a Moose Lake woman at the parking lot of the . Police found two receipts inside and were able to obtain images of a suspect making transactions.
