Readers React: Stoplights in Woodbury (Updated)

Monday's story on a college student who delivers pizza—and his thoughts on the timing of certain lights in town—prompted plenty of discussion.

What do you think of the timing of stoplights in Woodbury?

Apparently, a lot of them agree with graduate Jordan Simon, who delivers pizza for and has plenty of issues with the stoplights. (, who is studying applied science at the University of Wisconsin-Stout.)

Here’s what people were saying on the Woodbury Patch Facebook page:

Rosario: They're too long. They drive me crazy!

Tricia: Valley Creek Rd turning onto Donegal by Walgreens worked perfect (favored turning traffic) for the first 5 years I lived here, and the last year now has been horrible. You can wait 3-5 minutes with no traffic coming in any direction and it still stays red.

Ron: 19 and Wynstone ... I'm going on record right now and predicting a serious accident due to the flashing yellow turn signal. Worst idea ever.

Laurie: The intersection of Radio Drive and Tamarack, the light timing there makes no sense.

Danyell: VC and Interlachen takes forever but VC and Colby is fairly quick. I personally love the yellow flashing arrow and think there should be more of them. Maybe the people that don't understand the concept shouldn't be driving! Then again, we all know many of the people driving shouldn't be! Ha!

Joshua: I work in MPLS and live in Woodbury. In my time on this earth I have come to value the stop light sequences Woodbury offers. Try driving downtown if you think you've got it bad in Woodbury!

Kim: Valley Creek and Bielenberg drive...timing is awful!

Leigh: It seems the timing is good on VCR during "rush hour" times. I can usually make it from east of 19 to 694 in the am and back in the pm pretty smoothly. Other times can vary greatly.

Rich: The long lights seems to squeeze impatient traffic into our otherwise quiet neighborhoods. Now that I've returned to settle down in Woodbury to raise a family, I wonder if Woodbury was a good choice after all.

Susan: Queens drive and Valley Creek is my biggest complaint. Or is it Pinehurst and Radio? Perhaps Woodlane and Valley Creek? Oh, nevermind. They all stink up the town!

Kristen: Tamarack and Bielenberg; Tamarack and Radio. Two of the worst lights in Woodbury. Especially east/west bound. I try to avoid them at all costs.
