Two-Year Anniversary for Woodbury Patch

It’s been a joy covering Woodbury.

It was just two short years ago that Woodbury Patch launched the day after Thanksgiving.

Covering Woodbury, meeting people and learning about the city has been a blast, and I’m thankful for all the support I’ve received from the community.

I always tell people I went from a newspaper that had been around for more than a century to a brand-new website, and while there have been plenty of challenges along the way, so many of you have embraced Patch and what we’re trying to do.

It’s a participatory website, so different from any other news platform out there. It’s your site—I just work here.

As folks gathered Thursday for Thanksgiving, I took some time to be thankful for all the positive feedback, those who bought in and how far we’ve come. Thank you.

It’s amazing how fast these past two years have gone, and I know great things are yet to come as the site matures and grows.

Thanks again everyone!

Wow, two years already. Great job Kris! Having been a Woodbury "Patcher" from the get go I read this site first before any other news site. Thanks for the hard work you do!

Seems that Susan and I agree on one thing: Patch is really a welcome change from today's mostly bland media. Patch has a little "zip," it's a lively site. And a good source of local news. Keep up the good work Kris.

Thanks Thomas, much appreciated.

Not that I understand how it all works, but I think that ye all introduced new thinking and functionality at the Patch that consumers value. I hope you won’t be courted away from Woodbury, Kris. Congratulations indeed & best wishes for another good year. And, Mr. St.Martin, I’ve wanted to say how much I’ve enjoyed your articles. My lexile is not as advance (Giraffes Can’t Dance would be my favorite book)…you are utterly stimulating and it makes me look up words, policies, moral philosophies, etc. I’m glad you task us intellectually. I've visited and visit several other Patches, and this one is the best. It's completely due to the energy and time you invest Kris, and I want you to know how much it's appreciated. Please continue with adding your own insight and humor into your articles and comments. Nice to have a news site that's fun as well... Congratulations on two years!

Kris, my last post should have included a thanks for your help in setting up my blog on Patch. A cyber semi-illiterate like myself needed a lot of help and you provided it. So thanks again.

Margaret, thanks for the kudo. It's much appreciated. And let me know if you see any flaws in my facts or my reasoning. Im sure that there are quite a few points on which I could do better. Like you, I hope that Kris doesn't get courted away from us.
