Woodbury Beachgoers Beware: Roadwork at Carver Lake Park

The work is expected to run through Labor Day. Meanwhile, the fifth annual Carver Lake Camp Out is set to begin June 22.

If you beat the heat by heading to the beach over the weekend, you might find it a little tougher getting there during the next hot spell.

Roadwork on Century Avenue near the park was expected to begin today, June 11, and continue through Labor Day. The Metropolitan Council is at the 1100 block of Century Avenue South, just south of I-494 and west of Carver Lake, along the Maplewood-Woodbury border.

The road was still open as of Monday afternoon, but crews have started moving equipment into the area.

There will be numerous outdoor activities available, including swimming, canoeing, crafts, a campfire and more. Dinner, campfire treats and breakfast will be provided.

Activities are geared toward families with children ages 4-12 years old.

Space is limited. Call the Woodbury Parks and Recreation Department at 651-714-3583 to register.
