Woodbury Roadwork: Valley Creek Road Construction Set for Mid-July

Washington County and Woodbury plan a July 11 open house on the project.

A in Woodbury is set to begin in mid-July, according to a release from Washington County, which will head up the project.

Plans call for the road to be rebuilt from Bielenberg Drive to Woodbury Drive. Traffic signals will be upgraded as part of the project, as well as the trails along the road.

Residents and business owners looking for more information on the project can attend a July 11 open house at . It’s set for 4-7 p.m. in the Ash and Birch Conference Rooms.

There will be significant traffic impacts during construction—especially between Bielenberg Drive and Interlachen Parkway.

Access to all business and residential areas will be maintained, though it may be restricted at times during construction. No permanent changes to access will be made, according to the release.

Traffic

Northbound and southbound Radio Drive (County Road 13) will be closed for short periods while crews replace pavement at the Valley Creek Road-Radio Drive intersection.

The road will be reconstructed with mill and concrete overlay from Bielenberg Drive to Interlachen Parkway, and mill and asphalt overlay from Interlachen Parkway to Woodbury Drive, according to .

In the concrete pavement section, one side of Valley Creek will be closed at a time, with two-way traffic switched to the side of the road not being worked on, one-lane each direction.

The mill and asphalt overlay will be constructed under traffic with flaggers on either side of the work area. 

The project will also include replacing broken storm sewer pipes and improving the accessibility of pedestrian ramps according to Americans with Disabilities Act standards and guidelines.
