I am humble and thankful for the support, both personally and for the confidence in the job the district is doing. The board is perhaps more representative of all our communities than it has been in my memory. It will be an interesting new dynamic with a Newport and a St. Paul Park resident!

Sharon Van Leer

Thank you to everyone who supported me in this campaign. I am excited that we won the election. I look forward to working with the parents, students, teachers, administration, the community and the School Board members. The board members are trustees of the community that elects them, which makes all of us stakeholders. Therefore, we must be partners in this endeavor if we are to be successful. Our children deserve the best and I am dedicated to providing them with every opportunity to succeed. Thank you for your support.

Thank you to the community, family and friends who have supported me during this election. I will continue to be actively involved in District 833 and do everything possible to continue a positive forward path in education for all children of the district.

Congratulations to the winners of the ISD 833 School Board election. Even though I did not win, I appreciated the opportunity to run, learn more about our district and the political process.

Michael P. Edman

Congratulations to Sharon, Katy, Katie, Tracy and Laurie on winning the election yesterday. Our district was unusual this year in that we had so many qualified candidates willing to put themselves out there for what I imagine is oftentimes a thankless position!  I appreciated the civility of everyone's campaigns. Good luck to the newly elected board members. For those of us not successful yesterday, I hope you all continue to be involved in the schools and community.

The citizens of ISD 833 have made their choice for those they wish to represent them on the School Board. I believe they have chosen five individuals that will bring wonderful insight to the board and continue to work toward making our district one of the best in the state. While I may not be fortunate enough to be joining the board the experience of seeking a seat has been a very satisfying journey for which I owe a great deal of gratitude to those that supported my candidacy. A heartfelt thank-you to everyone!
