Community Gathering for Bullying Prevention Legislation

A forum on the Safe and Supportive Schools Act will be held in the worship center.   An optional social gathering begins at 6 p.m. with the forum starting at 6:30 p.m.  The forum will include speakers who have experienced bullying themselves or whose lives have been impacted by bullying and information will be provided about the Safe and Supportive Schools Act, H.F. 826. The Minnesota House will address this act during the upcoming 2014 legislative session.  It proposes to implement the recommendations made by the governor’s task force to address issues of school bullying following several tragic incidents of student suicide. The forum will conclude with a question and answer session from 7:30 to 8 p.m. for those who wish to stay.
