Join other fiber lovers for four weeks of learning to prepare and spin lively, chemical-free yarns with this highly portable, millenia-old tool! The top-whorl spindle is a terrific, effective tool for spinning yarn. Learn how to process sheep fleece with just soap and water to produce soft, light, bouncy wool to spin; the basics of spinning, increasing your speed as you gain confidence; and plying yarns on your hand. Learn to draft wool and silk and then to spin it to match the yarns you envision. Spin while you walk, wait in line, or ride the bus! Experience the satisfaction that comes from using wool that comes directly from sheep. Course fee includes a fine maple spindle, plenty of fleece and silk to spin, and extensive, informative handouts. $15 supply fee payable to instructor at the first class. This course has been increased from three to four sessions.
