Pilates is a series of floor toning exercises designed to strengthen and stabilize your core abdominals, low back, and glutes while offering mobility, strength, alignment, and body awareness as you complete the exercises. Through intentional breath patterning, the mind-body learns to work as an integrated whole. Experience, explore and master the five pilates principles of breathing and body alignment while learning the first eight to ten "essential" exercises. Structured like a fitness class, it is open to all levels, even those with no prior pilates experience. Beginners welcome. Exercises are done without shoes. Please bring your own mat and towel. This class has been increased from 45 to 55 minutes. No class on Dec. 3.
