Minnesota School of Business Nursing Expert Panel Discussion

In honor of National Nurses Week, Minnesota School Business, a leader in post-secondary education, invites the community to learn more about the nursing field. The Richfield campus will host a panel of industry experts on Wednesday, May 7, 2014, from 6:30 p.m. – 8 p.m. to discuss the growing demand for nurses, what it’s like to work in the field and the education, among other topics. The event is open to the public and there will an opportunity for attendees to ask questions.

Panel members include:

  • Elizabeth Riley - is the Dean of Nursing for Minnesota School of Business. Elizabeth has worked in higher education for more than twenty years as a nursing professor. Her clinical experience has included everything from high-risk obstetrics and labor and delivery to hospice care, with medical surgical nursing in between. Elizabeth has a master's in nursing from the University of Phoenix.

  • Tanya Velishek -  is a nursing instructor for Minnesota School of Business. She also works as an academic clinical placement coordinator at Fairview Health Services and volunteers her nursing services abroad. Tanya has a master’s in nursing from the University of Phoenix.

  • Sharon Stanke - is a nursing instructor for Minnesota School of Business and an educator at Minneapolis VA Health Care System. She achieved her doctorate in simulation for the open heart surgical patient. Dr. Stanke is a recognized national and international speaker about critical care and simulation.

  • Jane Goebel - has been the nurse administrator for St. Gertrude’s Health and Rehabilitation Center in Shakopee, Minn., for more than 17 years. She received her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire and her master’s degree in business administration with a health care concentration from the University of St. Thomas. Jane has provided training and education on various clinical and management topics, as well as quality improvement processes and tools in nursing home, hospital, professional associations and business settings.
