My top 5 favorite health and fitness apps

If you're like me, you are attached to your smart phone and use it for everything from Facebook to grocery list making to mobile banking.

I want to highlight 5 of my favorite health and fitness apps to help you keep on track to reaching your healthy way of life goals!

  1. MyFitnessPal. Track your food calories, carbohydrates, protein, fat, sodium and more. Also add in your exercise to get an estimated caloric burn for that day. All of the apps work with the original website and have access to the same database of over 1,922,000 foods. Any changes you make on your phone will be synchronized to the web and vice versa.   2. Nike+GPS. This popular app helps you keep track of everything about your run and even includes motivational messages from Nike's top athletes. GPS tracking allows you to see your route and where you've been. Facebook and Twitter are built in, and you can keep a record of runs and try to beat your last one. Download Nike+GPS here.
  3. Fooducate. Just pick up a product from the shelf, scan it, and let Fooducate do the rest. Fooducateanalyzes information found in each product's nutrition panel and ingredient list and gives is a rating from A-F.   4. Sleep Bug. Here's an app that produces ambient scene sounds and music to help you fall asleep sooner and more soundly.
