Ditch the excuses! Sneak in exercise with these 5 tips.

There are SO MANY excuses this time of year to ditch the workout...

  1. It's getting too cold outside
  2. It's gets dark too early
  3. Why start now with all the holidays coming up
  4. All of my favorite shows are back on TV
  5. The time change has me all thrown off

Don't become victim to any of those excuses, or whatever excuse you can come up with.

Be creative in the ways that you stay active during the colder and shorter days. You can get a really great workout in your living room during commercial breaks with NO equipment needed!

Commit to yourself NOW, before all the craziness of the holidays, and make regular exercise a part of your daily routine.

Here are some easy ways to "sneak" it in.
  1. Have you checked out all the great workout ideas on Pinterest? There are literally thousands of workout plans that you can do in your living room without equipment, or very little equipment.
  2. If you can't imagine missing your favorite show, be sure to get moving during commercial breaks. Jumping jacks, planks, and burpees are all great moves to do while you wait for your show to return.
  3. Get the whole family involved and start modeling healthy behaviors to your children now. Bundle up and go for a quick walk after dinner - little ones will love to be in charge of the flashlight.
  4. Have a baby? Find unique ways to incorporate them into your workout at BabyBootCamp.com including baby push ups, chest presses, and airplane.
  5. Schedule it on your calendar and treat it like an important meeting with your boss.

Some activity is better than none. Even if you only find 15 minutes on some days, that is better than not moving at all! Make daily exercise a habit and you will be ahead of the curve come January 1st.

As always, check with your medical professional prior to starting an exercise routine.
