Where to Recycle Your Old Holiday Lights

You can find drop-off sites in Oakdale, Woodbury and other cities.

Your holiday lights have seen better days, you can now find a good home at a nearby recycling drop-off site. Recycle Your Holidays, a program of the Recycling Association of Minnesota, lists dozens of collection spots around Minnesota and western Wisconsin this holiday season, including Oakdale and Woodbury:

You can also recycle lights year-round at Washington County Environmental Center4039 Cottage Grove Dr., Woodbury (651-430-6655). 

Your organization, workplace or school can also request free pickup through the program, which recycles every part of each light strand. According to Clean Energy Resource Teams, homes that switch to more energy-efficient LED holiday lights can save $10–250 each holiday season.
