Your holiday lights have seen better days, you can now find a good home at a nearby recycling drop-off site. Recycle Your Holidays, a program of the Recycling Association of Minnesota, lists dozens of collection spots around Minnesota and western Wisconsin this holiday season, including Oakdale and Woodbury:

Minnesota

Oakdale: Oakdale City Hall
Woodbury:
Frattallone's ACE HardwareWashington County Environmental Center

You can also recycle lights year-round at Washington County Environmental Center4039 Cottage Grove Dr., Woodbury (651-430-6655).

Your organization, workplace or school can also request free pickup through the program, which recycles every part of each light strand. According to Clean Energy Resource Teams, homes that switch to more energy-efficient LED holiday lights can save $10–250 each holiday season.
