Zero-Gravity Respiratory Relief

The Salt Room Woodbury located on Eagle Creek Lane opened earlier this month.  For more than 20 years dry salt aerosol, administered in specially-designed salt (halo) chambers, has been used to treat upper and lower respiratory conditions such as cold and flu, allergy, asthma, bronchitis, cystic fibrosis, sinus infection, sinusitis, rhinitis, hay fever and emphysema.

Salt rooms and salt therapy are a fairly new practice here in the States, but in Europe they are well known as salt caves, given their origins from salt mines where salt therapy was discovered.  Instead of the confined and enclosed European salt caves, we believe in creating a calming spa-like environment for our salt rooms in order to give clients a tranquil atmosphere where they can relax while benefiting from the salt therapy.

Every wall surface, including the floor & ceiling, is covered with natural rock salt to create a sterilized and negative ion environment.  The Salt Room also uses the newest top-of-the-line halogenerators to crush pharmaceutical grade salt into small particles for inhalation creating the microclimate.

Each salt therapy session at The Salt Room lasts 45 minutes.  You can read a book or even take a nap while relaxing to the calming background music playing in the room.  Your comfort is ensured by our Zero-Gravity, NASA inspired recliners.  With your feet elevated at your heart-level or slightly above, this position puts the least amount of strain on the spine neutralizing the effects of gravity.  The Zero-Gravity recliners allow you to relax while you’re seated and allows the discs in your spine return to their normal shape.
