Race for the Cure, Fiber Art Style

I discovered a way to volunteer as a fiber artist to help raise money for breast cancer research. There is an easy way for you to help happening this weekend in the twin cities.

In the last few years I have created many fiber art postcards. These are actual postcards to send through the mail made of fabric.  The last three cards I made were mailed to Ireland.  They will be exhibited in two shows with many other postcards and then all the cards will be sold to raise money for the Marie Keating Society(breast cancer research).  I am including photos of those three cards.  If you would like to read more about this you can find more information here

This weekend my family is going to walk the Susan G. Komen Twin Cities Race for the Cure at the Mall of America.  We are doing the 5k walk at 9:00 a.m. on Mother's Day.  We are walking in honor of my mother-in-law who had breast cancer three times.  In my mind that is three times more than anyone should have this horrible disease.  I am hoping that one day a cure for this cancer and all other cancer's will be discovered.  So, if you are wondering what to do on Mother's Day come and join us for an early morning walk, or look up the Susan G. Komen foundation and make a donation.
