Are You Mirroring Your Life Circumstances?

What if everything that is showing up in your life is somehow a mirror of what is going on inside?

Think about it: when everything is working out for you in the most pleasant way, who are you being? You are likely to be calm, confident, kind and hopeful. This could be the case of which was first, egg or chicken, but is it? What would you do if you knew that your outer circumstances reflected the inner state of your being?

Few weeks ago, I woke up to a beautiful day. In fact, it was a streak of beautiful months and days. Things were simply going my way. Then, an extra meeting gets scheduled, hot water boiler broke down after a spin class, I get a call from my host mom that my host dad was taken to a hospital with symptoms of a heart attack. Lastly, a friend calls: she is in labor and I said I would watch her little girl while she is in the hospital. All of this in 6 hours. I am forced to reschedule all of my appointments the next day so that I can be at home with her. I love her so this is a joy, but so much at once? What is going on?

Immediately, I knew I needed to get very quiet. What is it inside of me that is mirroring these events outside of me? Then I figured it out: it has been 5 days since I meditated last. I have been running around for days, being busy and preoccupied with doing, when I forgot about being.

Neville Goddard says: “Stop trying to change the world since it is only the mirror. Man’s attempt to change the world by force is a fruitless as breaking a mirror in the hope of changing his face. Leave the mirror and change your face. Leave the world alone and change your conceptions of yourself. The reflection then will be satisfactory.”
