Wash the Cottonwood Seeds Off of Your Air Conditioner

Wash the cottonwood seeds off of your air conditioner

Most neighborhoods in Woodbury have a cottonwood tree near by.  Those little white fuzzy seeds along with grass clippings and dirt will accumulate in the coils of your air conditioner and make it less efficient.

The air conditioner coils can be easily cleaned with a garden hose and spray nozzle.  To clean the coils, spray the water at a 30 degree angle from the outside.  The debris will build up on the outside of the coils so by spraying at an angle the coils come clean very quickly.

Do not forget to change your furnace filter in the summer months just as you do in the winter.  Your air conditioner uses the air flow from your furnace to operate.

If you find that it takes longer than it used to to cool your home then a tune up is needed.  Most systems will need a recharge of refrigerant from time to time.

Have a nice summer.
