East Ridge Cheer 'Unites the Night' for Homecoming

East Ridge Cheer brings out the spirit for Homecoming 2012

The East Ridge High School Football Cheer squad enjoyed their school's Homecoming festivities on Friday, September 21st.

The team brought out the school spirit in the student body at the pep fest in the afternoon and then participated in the school parade before the big game against cross-town rival Woodbury High.

The girls decorated a float with brightly colored signs expressing this year’s Homecoming theme, “Young, Wild and Free,” and had a lot of fun dressing up as toddlers and wearing neon animal print hats and bandanas. Their efforts won the team a first place finish in the float contest!

The third annual “Unite the Night” Coat drive was also held that evening at the front gates of the stadium as fans poured in for the game.

The East Ridge & Woodbury High School cheerleaders united to sponsor this coat drive that collected several barrels of coats and winter clothing for the Salvation Army’s “Coats for Kid’s” program. The girls would like to thank everyone for a great response to this event. It was great to see the two teams and the community working together for such a great cause!
