Neither Snow, Nor Rain...

Another community group has stepped up with a generous contribution of $250.

...stopped the Postal Credit Union Community Foundation from contributing to the "2012 in 2012" campaign.

THANK YOU!

And gee, I should mention the PCU's marketing communications director found out about the campaign through the Woodbury Patch! Hey, this thing does work!!!

Speaking of work — we have 3 weeks left to match a $10,000 challenge grant.  One donor has offered to match all the contributions we receive, dollar for dollar, up to $10,000. Right now, we're about halfway there.  It's a bit daunting but we're making our final push.

If we're successful, we'll have $20,000 on hand, and that is enough to buy the Washington County Library 2,012 books this year. As you may know, the library is under a financial crunch and has cut not only hours but also cut back on their collections budget.

At a time like this, we need more books on the shelves, not less!  Especially for kids — 40% of the items checked out are for children.  And also for adults who have failing eyesight — large print books are among the most expensive items the Library buys.

Your contribution, before September 30th, will be matched dollar for dollar.
