King of Kings Trains Student Leaders

During the past year the Children, Student and Family Ministry at King of Kings Lutheran Church developed a new training program for high school students in leadership roles at King of Kings. Many of our high school students volunteer to be teachers and leaders for Kids of the Kingdom, Kings Crew, REV, Vacation Bible School, American Girl Camp, and BUGs Camp. Other students participate in leadership through worship and mission.

The purpose of the training is to enhance the gifts and skills of our high school leaders. The Peer Ministry-based material used for the training helps students develop listening, communication, and relational skills, as well as life skills within the context of faith and our Baptismal call. Through four training events this year, 57 of our student leaders have been trained.

Getting our youth involved in the life of the church and giving them tools to be leaders in the community are just some of the many ways that King of Kings is building a sense of community within the congregation and beyond.
