"Tyler's Law" 131 Yeas and 0 Nays

"Tyler's Law" passes unanimously in the House. The Senate still needs to vote.

Late Thursday afternoon "Tyler's Law" came up for a vote in the Minnesota House of Representatives. We were fortunate to be present during the session's vote.

To share a few of the details of the experience, we gathered on the floor of the House as Rep. Kieffer (the "author") spoke to the value of the bill. Then several other representatives also shared thatthey too feel the need for Minnesotans to fully be aware of Carbon Monoxide dangers.

When it was time for the votes to be cast, the indicator board on the wall filled with affirmative green lights. There were 131 green yeas, and 0 red nays.

First thoughts, "Tyler, this is in your honor. And this is a good thing for Minnesota."

There are many steps a bill takes to become a law, with each step being vital for the next one to take place. So with the House vote behind us, looking forward, the next (and also vital) step is for the Senate to hear and pass the bill as well. Perhaps that could happen this weekend. It is the very last thing that must take place before Gov. Dayton is given the opportunity to decide whether he signs the bill into law or not.  (I think he will......given the chance.....I hope he will, and he is given the chance!)
