"Tyler's Law" is Off to Gov Dayton

Both HOUSE and SENATE favor "Tyler's Law" unanimously.

Mid-day Saturday, just as the rain subsided, during the state Senate session (yes, they meet on Saturday AND Sunday when it is crunch time!) "Tyler's Law" came up for a discussion/debate and vote.

After Sen. Wiger, Sen. Lillie and Sen. Magnus spoke on behalf of the bill, asking for all members to support it, all members supported it by unanimously voting  yes!

As with the vote in the state House of Representatives chamber, we were fortunate to be present for the vote in Senate chamber. We are fortunate because it isn't until the last minute that it is decided if and when a bill will be heard.

After testifying in seven committees between the Senate and the House, after spending 2-3 hours each day up at the Capitol and State Office Building, after making countless phone calls, and after sending hundreds of emails we are now going to see "Tyler's Law" become a law! Governor Dayton will likely receive the bill by this Monday.

He will have three days to sign it into law. We are banking on him signing it into law! (with  every legislator in the state supporting it, how could he not??? But nothing in politics is for certain, except that nothing in politics is for certain!).

This is NOT the result of just our efforts. This is the result of the many "friends and supporters of  Tyler's Law" community coming together. They all had their hand in the success of a law being made. Even the smallest gestures (one email note, one prayer, one word of interest or encouragement) added to the momentum that was needed to get to this point. How in the world are we ever going to express our gratitude??? It is impossible.

A closing thought: even in death, we can learn from our children. Thank you son.
