Standing Strong Anti-Bullying 5K Run/Walk

On May 18th, Standing Strong, an anti-bullying campaign, is hosting a 5K run/walk in Cottage Grove's Kingston Park.

The First Annual Standing Strong 5K Run/Walk is a partnership between Cottage Grove Middle School, Oltman Middle School and the Cottage Grove Lions Club.

The Standing Strong 5K Run/Walk is on Saturday, May 18 at Kingston Park (9195 75th St. S., Cottage Grove), and the money raised from the event will go towards anti-bullying programs in both middle schools.

Funding will primarily go towards paying for all future eighth graders at both middle schools to attend a Courage Retreat by Youth Frontiers. This program works on helping students find their own courage to be themselves, make positive choices and stand up to bullying behavior. Any additional money raised may be used for other anti-bullying initiatives in the schools.
