2013 Relay for Life at East Ridge High School

The 2013 Relay for Life of South Washington County is set for June 7-8 at East Ridge High School.

The event, which begins at 6 p.m. Friday, June 7, asks teams to walk, relay-style, around the track at the high school in Woodbury.

The annual event raises money for the American Cancer Society, and the Woodbury Relay is typically one of the largest of in terms of funds raised.

The 93 teams and 888 participants had raised $119,091 as of Thursday afternoon. The Woodbury Relay for Life has raised more than $2 million in its history.

This year's event is dedicated to Zach Netten, an East Ridge freshman who was diagnosed at the outset of the school year with Hodgkin lymphoma.

People can attend for free, and there will be numerous activities, including a new 5K this year.
