Woodbury's Newest Trailhead

The Environment

Whenever I see paths being cut through terrain it reminds me of a great book by Stephen Ambrose, called “Undaunted Courage.”  The book is about the Lewis and Clark Expedition and is a good read.

The idea of exploration for expansion of people to have a greater connection with our planet is a good thing.

This is an update on our own small expansion on the progress being made about the new connection for western Woodbury and all folks with the greater Mpls. / Saint Paul trails system. The construction people have been diligently working on the new trail and have made great progress since starting earlier last week.

Several people have already commented as they navigate their way through the cut out section of trees that they never knew this section of Woodbury even existed so close.

In the next several weeks the fella’s will be finishing up with the trail and many neighborhood teens are already lining up to plan their skateboarding adventure down the curved sloping path.

Also, it looks like deer, raccoon and opossum have already been investigating their modified surrounding as there are tracks abundant in the soft dirt. The trail opens up more exploration activities for the folks of our community about the flora and fauna of Woodbury and the Twin Cities area.

The trail has been planned and constructed wisely. It was an efficient and effective use of community funds for creating a positive impact for the environmental conservation in our community.
