Project Blue Light-- Supporting Law Enforcement

In Woodbury there seems to be a stigma that having blue lights on your house signifies that you are apparently swingers. A rumor that I have heard a few times.
For a law enforcement family blue lights in windows or on a house signify something entirely different.
For the past 25 years the organization, Concerns of Police Survivors, has asked law enforcement families, surviving families, and law enforcement supporters to place blue lights in their windows to honor those brave men and women who have made the ultimate sacrifice. And it also shows support to those officers that continue to work on the streets.

Project Blue Light is a simple gesture; during the holidays decorate with blue lights or simply insert a single blue bulb in the candle stick replicas that adorn many windows in homes or businesses. C.O.P.S. also encourages law enforcement agencies to decorate the precinct stations and headquarters in blue lights.

The color blue is symbolic of peace. By displaying blue lights in your holiday decorations, you will be sending a dual message – that you support law enforcement and that you hope the coming year will be a year of peace.

In my house we will be proudly displaying our blue lights to show our support of law enforcement. Help us get rid of this rumor that blue lights have a different meaning.
