Bad Ju-Ju, Feng Shui and Foreclosures

Why I refuse to buy a home with an grand staircase leading out the front door.

I will not buy a house with a grand staircase leading right out the door.

Seems odd, right? It is a Feng Shui thing.

I don't 100 percent believe in Feng Shui, the ancient Chinese art of arranging your "stuff" so your heaven and earth create a perfect union of goodness.

Except for the staircase thing. You see, in Feng Shui, staircases leading right out the front door means money is FLOWING OUT. And I transformed into a believer because three out of five foreclosures I've looked in Woodbury had this layout.

No lie.

"They" say you can stop the money from flowing out by setting up mirrors on either side of your front door... to "bounce" the money back into the home.

Foreclosures scare me overall—not because the home is sold "as is" or who knows how long the cat has peed in the house (ah, man that smells). But they scare me because of the bad ju-ju left in the home.

The last foreclosure we saw had those little concrete blocks with hand prints of their children left outside the patio. They left their children's hand prints at the house!

Bad ju-ju.

While I'm still interested in foreclosures because yes, you can get a good deal, I'm hestitant to even put in an offer.

Has anyone out there had luck with a foreclosure? And does your house have a stairway leading outside the door? Are you going to Feng Shui your front door? :)
