Gifts Are Given, But Are They Used?

Looking for your gifts and talents and sharing them is not as hard as you might think.

For the past few days I have had the privilege of immersing myself in a collection of beautiful artwork by Heather Hultgren.

You may know Heather; she is a staff and congregation member at King of Kings Lutheran Church. She leads the REV Confirmation program, and provides a wonderful learning opportunity for our youth.

Heather has truly been given many gifts from God. The art work she creates draws you in and allows you to imagine, not only what she has transferred to paper, but what lies beyond the edge of the frame. Heather has a gift and she is always happy to share it.

God gives gifts to his people, He has filled them with the skill to do every kind of work done by an artisan or by a designer or by an embroiderer in blue, purple, and crimson yarns, and in fine linen, or by a weaver—by any sort of artisan or skilled designer. Exodus 35:35.

I believe the reason God gives us these gifts is that he wants to share a part of who He is, with everyone so that they might inspire each other and grow closer to Him.

Heather sure has inspired me to use my gifts and I will pass that gift to you. The gift of inspiration, hope, and joy. A joy for the beauty of the world. Hope for God’s children, and the inspiration to see beyond the frame.Looking for your gifts and talents and sharing them is not as hard as you might think.

In the February edition of the Kings Messenger look for places and events that you might share that special gift God has given you. Maybe your gift is reading and discerning what you’ve read. Sharing that gift in a book club, library, or learning group at King of Kings might be just the place to inspire others with your gift.

Maybe you, like Heather have the gift of art that oozes out through a brush, pastels, your fingers, your voice, etc. Inspire others by sharing your works at the Artist’s Corner, the church choir or a musicians group.

Look through the pages of the Kings Messenger and see what God is calling you to do, to inspire others with your gifts. http://www.kingofkingswoodbury.org/news--publications.html
