Authorities Seek Missing Senior Citizen

The search area has been expanded. From a release from the Washington County Sheriff's Office:

Since the Sheriff's Office received the call for service, Sheriff's personnel along with members from the Hugo, Forest Lake and Centennial Lakes Fire Department, the Centennial Lakes Police Department, the Lino Lakes Police Department, the MN State Patrol, the MN DNR, and the Ramsey County Sheriff's Office have been searching the area. 

This search has included mounted patrol, State Patrol helicopter as well as Washington County Sheriff's Office watercraft. At approximately 1500 hrs the organized search was called off. Mr. Novakovic is an avid walker, many days covering over 4 miles. 

The area in which Mr. Novakovic could be located is significant. We are asking the public to assist with searches of their property to include outbuildings, stored vehicles and watercraft, pools etc. If you are aware of someone living in and around the area who is unable to conduct this search on their own, please help or contact the Sheriff's Office for assistance.

At this time, there is no indication of foul play. Currently there are no organized search efforts planned due to the undefined search area, and extensive ground that Mr. Novakovic could have covered outside of the initial search area.  Citizens with information regarding Mr. Novakovic are asked to contact the Washington County Sheriff's Office at 651-439-9381.

Washington County Sheriff's Office is seeking the public's assistance to find a missing elderly man who left his home in Hugo on Sunday.

The man, a 75-year-old named Radivoje Ray Novakovic, went missing from his home at the 13000 block of Europa Trail in Hugo and not has not been seen since about 9:45 p.m. Sunday.

Novakovic was last seen wearing a maroon shirt, khaki pants and a brown hat. He is approximately 5-foot-6, 160 pounds and has grey/white hair.

The Washington County Sheriff’s Office and fire personnel from Hugo, Forest Lake, Centennial Lakes and White Bear Lake are currently searching for Nakaovic.

At this time, there is no indication of foul play and the Washington County Sheriff’s Office is not requesting volunteers to assist searching.

Those who live within walking distance from Novakovic’s home are asked to check their property for him.
